The FCC compliant Narrowband
testbed is a fully configurable DSP based, real-time, multi-antenna
testbed. It supports 4 KHz of useful bandwidth in the 220MHz frequency
band. The testbed provides a platform to investigate the performance
of algorithms at the packet and network level in a real-time environment.
The system can be configured in a broadcast mode where a range of
10 miles has been observed or in a peer to peer mode with a range
of about 1.5 miles. A few interesting test capabilities include MIMO
systems with up three transmit and 4 receive antenna, infrastructure-based
networking with multi-antenna support at the base station and ad-hoc
networking with multiple mobile radios.
